Hey everyone, just a reminder that we are open tonight, but there is no skateboarding, cause the gym is in use for another event. You are welcome to join us for a skate vid night upstairs, just come to the front doors and buzz up on the buzza. This is the last one til Jan 6 so we'll see you in the new year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We're Officially Back, We have new ramps!

Come and skateboard every Tuesday for the rest of this year. We have new ramps too. We're also working on some even newer ones that won't be ready for a little while yet. So get stoked to skate now, and if you have any sense of projectionary vision get stoked for the future. The future is now, but the future of the new ramps is not, soon though, soon. Rabble rabble.

Remember, if you're in Junior high or younger, please come skate from 5:30 PM CST(Calgary Standard Time) until 7:00 PM CST.

Seriously!

Otherwise, if you're current age count lands you in the High School or older age demographic please skateboard from 7:30 CST until we shut the lights off sometime around 9:30 CST.

Also, for those faithful attendies who might actually read this thing we promise to try and update it more often.

Thanks and hopefully see you on board, in the gym, at the church, wearing a helmet, smiling and trickulating.

Due to the crazy weather and bad roads skate church is closed tonight. We will be open next week, however, as a reminder please note that there will be no one at Dalhousie until 5:30. If youcome early you will be cold!! Keep fit and have fun!

We're back and Passes Available

Welp, we've been back now for 3 weeks, today is week 4 and annual passes are now available. The cost is $60 and it covers your enterance for the rest of the year, its about 5 free Tuesdays. Wow! What a Deal! Anyway, come get em and see you tonight.

hey guys, i know everyone was all set to go this week, but there has been an emergency within the skate church family, and as a result, we won't be skating at the church tonight. big apologies to anyone who gets this too late, and went to the church already, but yeah, please check back on the blog here to find out more about next week as we figure everything out. if you want, you are welcome to call at 283-2336. that's my house.

Update...

Just a couple quick things to update everyone on. We are going to be switching over to a super session starting on May 8th. What this means is there will no longer be 2 sessions, the night is open to everyone. However, the night will run from 5pm to 7:30pm. This will continue until June 12th. June 12th will be the last SkateChurch session of the summer, until we reopen in September. Thanks

March Snow Storm

Hey for those of you who are checking this thing. We are closed today (March 27/07) due to crazy weather and dangerous highways in from Airdrie. We will be open again next week (April 3/07) So have a great night and build snowmen.

The last weekend of this month check out the hibernation skate in Red Deer. If there's an interest in going let us know and perhaps we could set up some rides for saturday or possibly a weekend thing.

SkateChurch Bible Study

We've started meeting thursday nights in one of the upstairs classrooms at the Dal. church to do a bible study. Everyones welcome and it's pretty low key, we just meet, read and then talk about what we've read and whatever else is on our mind.

Currently:
Currently we're studying Ecclesiastes, it's probably my favorite books. If you've never read it the book, it basically takes an honest look at everything we do and calls it out for it's vanity and meaninglessness in relation to the big picture. It goes on and on about how we strive after things just to die and asks what the point of it all is. The author does give us some hope though and it really helps to put everything into perspective.

The First post always makes me nervous but after that it's smooth sailing. Anyways, this is the new skatechurch blog. Check it regulaly and get information on the amazing stuff that we're doing and planning and merely thinking about doing but not doing anything about.
